Marie Skłodowska Curie Doctoral Network LipidBRIGHT:
EU promotes doctoral network on lipids research to improve disease insights and
therapy options with 3 million euros
The European Union recently approved the Marie Skłodowska Curie Doctoral Network LipidBRIGHT for funding. Within the LipidBRIGHT consortium, scientists throughout Europe will work intensively together to study lipid mediators in cardiovascular disease, chronic inflammation, chronic kidney disease and cancer. Members of this European Doctoral Network are six research institutions and 2 SMEs from the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, France, and Sweden, as well as one associated research institute from Switzerland.
The network is further supported by 16 other associated partners for training and dissemination. Eleven young researchers (so-called Early Stage Researchers) will be intensively trained to advance insights into the contribution of lipids to disease processes, detection and treatment, as well as the development of transferable know-how in joint research projects. Overall, the LipidBRIGHT consortium is funded by the European Union from 2026-2030 with a funding volume of 3.1 million euros.
This project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon Europe research and innovation programme under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie grant agreement No 101225280
